Great Success for Elite Days 2015

Great success for second edition of Sanlorenzo’s exclusive event aimed at rewarding its yacht owners.

This year’s exclusive event was held in the Carlo Riva Port in Rapallo where Sanlorenzo exhibited all the models of its fleet. The elegant weekend of excellence characterized the luxurious ‘made to measure’ lifestyle for which Sanlorenzo is known.

Sanlorenzo is considered as the ‘boutique’ of the yachting industry, with a limited production of unique yachts – each one made to measure according to the specific requirements of its owner. This dedication to the ‘made to measure’ philosophy remains intact despite the exponential growth of the company in recent years, as illustrated by Sanlorenzo’s second place ranking in Showboats International’s ‘Top 30 Builders’. Sanlorenzo’s turnover alone has experienced significant increases from 57 million to 208 million in the ten years since Massimo Perotti acquired ownership of the company in 2005.

Over 350 guests from all over the world were given the chance to interact with the whole Sanlorenzo range: Fourteen Sanlorenzo yachts were moored on main quay of Carlo Riva Port, which was specially leased for the occasion, allowing the guests a unique chance to experience the Sanlorenzo fleet through on board visits and sea trials in the beautiful Portofino bay.

The underlying theme of the Elite Days was an effort to demonstrate Sanlorenzo’s uniqueness and its bespoke philosophy whilst offering the guests a variety of unique ‘made to measure’ experiences:
the opportunity to disassemble and reassemble a watch mechanism in a démontage show by IWC Schaffhausen’s master watchmakers; the chance to create their own fragrances with the guidance of Sileno Cheloni, the Master Perfumer and ‘nose’ of Florence’s Aquaflor boutique; Getting carried away by the elegance of the Rolls Royce Ghost made available to guests as a courtesy car; Driving wonderful classic cars along the Portofino Bay in a rally; Enjoying the thrill of ‘flying’ a drone over the Carlo Riva Port; or driving BMW’s innovative C Evolution electric scooters.

Guests were also invited to experience an art installation by Giovanni Frangi on board Sanlorenzo’s 40Alloy, a 40-meter metal superyacht, whilst enjoying the delicate pairing of Upstream salmon with Laurent-Perrier champagne and the option to sample Diadema’s purest Cuban cigars.

A beautiful gala dinner was held for the guests in the historic Villa Cervara which boasts stunning views of the Portofino coastline. The gala also presented an ideal opportunity to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Massimo Perotti’s acquisition of Sanlorenzo in 2005 and to formally announce Sanlorenzo’s exciting upcoming collaboration with Chris Bangle, who is set to design a series of new super yachts for the shipyard over the next ten years.
